My mission is to bring more people together to give of their time, treasure and talent to youth through Scouting in the 40 counties served by the Buckskin Council.

Assistant Scout Executive and Senior Development Director, Virginia Beach, VA                               March 2020-Present

  • Serving a staff lead for the formation and execution of a $10,000,000 endowment campaign

  • Membership growth: As the staff advisor for membership, led one of only five councils in CST-15 to achieve three consecutive years of membership growth.

  • Fundraising: Friends of Scouting donations increased by 36% over a five-year period, from $380,000 in 2020 to $540,000 in 2025.

  • Worked with finance committee in developing and managing a $2.4 million council budget.

  • Unit growth: Led a team that started 15 new units in a single year, the second highest council total in CST-15.

  • Program management: As business manager for summer resident camp, managed a profitable budget of $235,716 net revenue over expenses.

  • Program growth: Organized a grant-funded ScoutReach program serving 14 units and 235 Scouts, supported by a committee and four staff program aids.

 

Field Director, Fort Myers, FL                                                                 August 2016-March 2020

  • Membership growth: Despite major hurricanes and limited school access, led the council to membership growth in all three years serving as Field Director. 

  • Leadership: Onboarded and mentored new staff members to achieve Journey to Excellence Gold, membership growth, and Friends of Scouting achievement in their districts.

  • Unit Service: While staff advisor to the commissioner staff, all districts and the council achieved Journey to Excellence Gold, while leading the area in commissioner contacts.

  • Started an in-school Scouting program in our rural central Florida district.

  • Performance: Led the council in achieving Journey to Excellence Gold in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

 

District Director, Fort Myers, FL                                                              August 2013-August 2016

  • Membership growth: As the staff leader for fall recruiting, led the council to overall membership growth. Traditional membership grew in two of three years served.

  • Leadership: Supervised a two-district service area serving four counties with a population of more than 950,000 people.

  • Performance: Achieved Journey to Excellence Silver in 2013, Bronze in 2014, and Silver in 2015.

 

Senior District Executive, Asheville, NC                                                   February 2009-August 2013

  • Membership growth: In two of four years served, membership grew by 12% plus.

  • Fundraising: Grew Friends of Scouting by 38%.

  • Adaptability: Upon consolidation of four districts into one new district, built and engaged a new district committee and commissioner staff.

  • Program: Served as staff advisor for Jamboree, University of Scouting, and Council Camporee.

  • Performance: Achieved Journey to Excellence Silver for two consecutive years and Centennial Quality District for two years.

 

Senior District Executive, Columbia, SC                                                   August 2006-July 2008

  • Membership: Served Columbia, SC in a district with a high urban population density.

  • Fundraising: Increased Friends of Scouting by 8%.

  • Program: Led key staff assignments, including Cub Scout Day Camp and Council Camporee.

  • Performance: Achieved Quality District in 2008 and Winners Circle in 2008.

 

District Director, Columbus, OH                                                              August 2003-July 2006

  • Leadership: Managed the council’s satellite office, leading one executive and one support staff member in serving seven rural Appalachia counties.

  • Fundraising: Developed relationships with four United Ways and wrote successful funding proposals.

  • Performance: Achieved Quality District in 2005 and 2006, as well as Winner Circle in 2005 and 2006.

 

Senior District Executive, Greenville, SC                                                  August 2000-July 2003

  • Unit service: Served suburban Greenville, SC in the district with the largest district committee, largest Cub Scout Day Camp, and largest popcorn sale.

  • Program: Led key staff assignments, including Cub Scout Day Camp and a Philmont contingent.

  • Performance: Achieved Quality District in 2000 and 2001, as well as Winners Circle in 2001, 2002, and 2003

 

District Executive, Albemarle, NC                                                            March 1997 - July 2000

  • Membership growth: Increased membership by 20% in rural North Carolina.

  • Program: Served as Summer Camp Director, Program Director, and COPE Director.

  • Performance: Achieved Quality District in 1997, 1998, and 1999, as well as Winners Circle in 1997 and 1999.
