The crucial time to build relationships in the Chippewa Valley Council in our journey together.
90 DAY ACTION PLAN

Note: This is a living document, subject to change as I learn more about the council in the application process.

Visit personally with all executive board members and “Top 25” Friends of Scouting donors.

Work with key stakeholders to develop a list of “Key People to Meet” and create opportunities to engage with them.

Review Council Calendar and events and ensure I and the team are on track to complete backdating items.

Meet with membership volunteers and staff to develop a year-round membership recruitment campaign with monthly task list to stay on track and have growth for membership in 2026.

Ensure the 2026 fundraising campaigns are planned, and volunteers and staff are trained in its execution.

Review council financial status including all fundraising campaigns, product sales, and special events to ensure that the council generates the necessary revenue to meet the 2026 budget. Work with budget committee to develop 2027 budget for future approval Board of Directors.

Confirm that the annual business meeting is well planned concerning 2026 budget approval and new board member election.

Meet with each professional and administrative staff member, to open lines of communication, establish trust, and review their roles in the council and 2026 performance development goals.

Review budget and monthly cash flow management practices with council treasurer, budget committee and staff.

Work with Camping Committee to implement ideas for year-round use of camp properties to both increase membership/retention and revenue to the council.

Work with key volunteers to develop a marketing strategy that is designed to target families with young children.

Visit Camp Phillips, Camp Brunswick and the council service center with Council Property Chair to build an understanding of any repair and maintenance, preventative maintenance, and infrastructure challenges.

Along with one to two key volunteers, conduct fireside chats in key Scouting and/or geographic communities.

Review current strategic plan and begin to recruit a Strategic Planning Committee that will partner with staff leadership to develop a 5-year strategic plan with pillars and tactics to grow council operations.

Get actively involved in the community by joining service organization(s) and participate in projects that will give high visibility to Scouting. Begin developing relationships with community leaders, other youth organizations, and United Way leadership to ensure Scouting’s continued visibility and positioning in the community.
